United Kingdom Applicants

Applicants who are registered / resident in the United Kingdom and whose goods will be exported from the United Kingdom, must apply using one of the local issuing Chambers.

Channel Islands Applicants

Applicants who are registered in Channel Islands and whose goods will be exported from Channel Islands must use the below links to apply for their ATA Carnets.

  • Include United Kingdom in your itinerary if you will travel through or visit the UK
  • The Carnet must be validated by the Channel Islands Customs before travelling abroad.

Guernsey Traders

If you are a resident or business based in Guernsey, Alderney, Sark or Herm (and your journey will start from these territories), use the Guernsey ATA Carnet issuing system link.

Important notes on the application process

The application process consists of three simple steps:

Step 1: Applicant and Journey Details

Provide details of:

  • The Carnet holder (individual or company which owns the goods).
  • Person(s) who will travel with the goods (if known)
  • The intended use of the goods abroad (for example: exhibitions and trade fairs, professional equipment, or commercial samples).
  • Countries to be visited and transited

Step 2: List the Goods

Provide a full inventory of all items that will travel under the ATA Carnet, Including:

  • Item description (including serial numbers and identifying marks)
  • Quantity
  • Weight.
  • Value in GBP
  • Origin (country of manufacture)

Step 3: Pay the Applicable Fees and Sign the Undertaking

Once the application has been completed:

  • The required issuing fee will be calculated
  • Any applicable security requirements will be advised
  • Payment can be made using the available online payment options
